▶ What age is it suitable for?
Kid Ink Lab is designed for children aged 8-12 (Grades 2-7). The coaching language is simple and encouraging, and the writing types cover what most primary school curriculums require.
▶ Is it safe for children?
Yes. Kid Ink Lab collects only an email address for login. No personal information about children is collected or stored. The AI coaching is filtered to be age-appropriate and encouraging at all times. We never share data with third parties.
▶ Do I need to download anything?
No download needed. Kid Ink Lab works entirely in your web browser on any device — phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. Just go to kidinklab.com and start writing.
▶ What writing types does it support?
Kid Ink Lab supports 7 writing types: Essay, Story, Letter, Description, Journal, Book Review and Speech. Each type has its own coaching path, sentence starters and vocabulary support.
Free vs Premium
▶ What is free and what is Premium?
The free plan includes all 7 writing types, the mind map, plan board, sentence starters, instant evaluation and up to 10 saved writings. Premium ($5/month) adds real-time AI coaching from Writty, unlimited saves, PDF export and priority support.
▶ How does billing work?
Premium is billed monthly at $5 USD. You can cancel anytime — there are no contracts or minimum periods. When you cancel, your Premium access continues until the end of the billing period.
▶ How do I cancel my subscription?
Email us at support@kidinklab.com with your account email and we will cancel your subscription immediately. You can also manage your subscription directly through the Stripe customer portal.
▶ Is my payment information safe?
Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, one of the world's most trusted payment platforms. Kid Ink Lab never stores your card details — Stripe handles all payment security with bank-level encryption.
Using the App
▶ How does the magic link login work?
Enter your email address and we send you a secure login link. Click it and you are logged in instantly — no password needed, ever. The link expires in 15 minutes for security.
▶ Can my child use it without an account?
Yes! You can start writing immediately without logging in. An account is only needed to save writings across sessions and to access Premium features.
▶ Does it work on mobile and tablet?
Yes. Kid Ink Lab is fully responsive and works on iPhone, Android phones, iPads and Android tablets. We recommend landscape mode on smaller phones for the best experience.
▶ What does Writty actually do?
Writty is your AI writing coach robot. At each step of writing, Writty gives personalised coaching tips and thinking questions based on your specific topic and writing type. Writty never writes for the child — it coaches, encourages and asks questions to help them find their own words.
